Hi everyone! It’s been awhile, right? And according to my analytics, I have had a good bit of new readers here in the last week or so- welcome!
Normally I post at least twice a week, on Mondays and Thursday’s. But it has been a crazy week!
So W and Beau had a Hallmark moment last week and made balloon stress balls together. They actually turned out really cool looking! I was thinking of doing a tutorial on them and everything. Until I woke up early Thursday morning to put the finishing touches on my post and the computer wouldn’t start.
Turns out the boys had relieved their stress by throwing the stress balls at each other, the stress balls promptly exploded, and their flowery filling got in the crevices of my MacBook.
I don’t think it’s gonna survive FlourBall 2017.
It was funny to try to see the boys try to talk their way out of that one.
We have an ancient Dell that is super heavy and literally takes about an hour to turn on- it is my “in case of emergency break glass and use” laptop. Yesterday I had to finally take the day off of work because of my poison ivy so I had some time to work on it. After a couple of hours, I was able to get it in somewhat usable condition! Yes! I picked up the boys from school and then sat down to work on a blog post.
A couple of minutes later there was a frantic knock at the door. One of the city workers, who had been in our front yard all day working on replacing water pipes, was standing there.
Right behind him, I could see a stream of pressurized gas shooting in the air. They had ruptured a gas line in front of our house.
I grabbed the boys and dogs and ran. Our whole neighborhood was evacuated. We spent the next 5 hours at Michael’s mom’s house while they repaired the pipe.
I found out later that our volunteer fire department was so worried that we would lose our house because of fire, or, you know, explosion, that they spent the whole time with a fire truck and hoses trained on our house just in case, so they could save it. While we were running away, they were smack dab in the middle of the danger, as usual. These folks don’t get the credit that they deserve.
So this morning, safe and sound and in one itchy piece, I sat down with Old Faithful Dell to write a real post and she wouldn’t turn on. I’m writing this on my IPad.
Ordering a new computer today and hope to be back on a regular posting schedule later this week!
