Hey guys! We had a fun, but unplanned last minute weekend away visiting my parents, who live 3 hours away. Between that and some hefty work obligations, I didn’t get as far as I wanted with the master bedroom reveal…or blogging in general to be honest. I am very hopeful to have the master reveal on Thursday. And I hate to sound braggy…but it’s pretty good 🙂 Until then, here’s some random stuff that I’ve been wanting to share.
Real Estate
Judging by the number of clicks I had on Pinterest, you guys seemed to like the Cheap but Charming Real Estate Round Up that I did the other day. Well, here’s another one. It’s $29,000.
Have I mentioned how much I love old homes? And I just kinda want to save them all. And put them in my pocket.
Independence Day
A nearby small town has an Independence Day parade every year, and we almost always go. This year for the first time in several years, it didn’t rain, and it wasn’t scorching hot! It was small town parade Nirvana!
My favorite part is the Shriners who drive around in their little tiny cars. Oh, who am I kidding- as a former band nerd, it’s the marching band. It will always be the marching band.
Beach Trip
We’re headed to St. Simons in a few weeks! We’ve always used VRBO to book our vacation rental, but I know that lots of people are using Airbnb now. Anyone used both that can give me any pointers to compare between the two?
Good gracious, but that kid is cute!
Amazon Prime Day. And Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. And Stitch Fix.
What’s a girl to do?
I’m trying really hard not to look. You’re not going to find a recommendations list from me. Not this year, anyway. Maybe next year 🙂
I loooovvvveeee Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Stitch Fix is how I usually buy my clothes, but if a store can coax me away from Stitch Fix, it’s Nordstrom, and the Anniversary Sale is good. If you want recommendations for the sale, I’d recommend you follow Sheaffer Told Me To. She’s hilarious (love her Bachelor recaps, and I don’t even watch!) and her recommendations are spot on.
And the reason I’m not looking…
Our dogs. They are the masters of disaster. They’ve been mostly in the house for the last few weeks while we wait for a new fence to be built (5 weeks! The fence company was 5 weeks out from building it!) The dogs have managed to chew up our kitchen table and chairs, every bit of molding in the kitchen and mudroom we have (even pulling molding off the wall in the mudroom), and chewing shelving off the peninsula in the kitchen. When we repaired that, they just chewed up the peninsula itself. They have oodles and oodles of chew toys, and we’re exercising them frequently. They just don’t love being in the house all the time. We love the dogs, but oy vey!
Yup, we named our pups Marshall and Tucker. Sometimes you don’t realize how red you are until you see it in black and white.
Anyway, that fence, which will encompass most of our property, is pricey. So I’m trying really hard not to notice all of the good deals that are getting ready appear like manna from heaven.
Anybody have any magic remedies to keep dogs from chewing? I think we’ve bought out everything that the pet store sells, but to no avail.
All right guys! I will see you back here Thursday, hopefully with a master bedroom reveal! Have a great Monday!
