Well hello there everyone, and Happy Labor Day!
On today’s Monday, Monday, I’m sharing a beautiful living room in the Pin of the Week, some pretty stunning tufted sofas that I’m dreaming about for our upcoming library reno in the Hi-Lo of the week, a cute as pie rehab with tons of potential in this week’s Real Estate Spy, and something you probably would have never guessed about me (plus one of my biggest regrets) in Just One Thing.
Pin of the Week
I love this living room by Doreen at Hymns and Verses.
I love how she mixed patterns, plus brought in the pop of pink! This is from her summer home tour. But you guys know I’m having a moment with pink right now, right? (Erm, here’s my master bedroom, my mudroom walls, and basically an ode to Millennial pink if you didn’t know) 🙂
Hi-Lo

I’ve mentioned that I’m planning on turning our entry into a library (or, as I slip and say sometimes, “li-berry”. I may just go all Chris Loves Julia and call it the Reading Room). It’s a large center entry that is pretty much useless at this point except for walking through. I’m planning to do it for the One Room Challenge in October, so I need to get my ducks in a row and start choosing finishes now. Here are the sofas that I’m thinking about now, in Hi-Lo versions (although I’d love to be able to thrift one!):
Real Estate Spy
This one, I chose because I just love the light in this house. It’s in Salem, NY, and it’s $24,000!
Okay, maybe it doesn’t have a ton of charm or curb appeal right now, but just picture it with bright white paint, navy blue shutters, fresh red (ooh! or yellow!) paint on both doors, and blue hydrangeas in front. Plus some cedar shakes in those dormers. Pretty amazing difference, right?
These next few pics show the fantastic light this house gets…
Even the darker rooms have character….
And check out this amazing detached workshop! How cute would it be fixed up.
Just one thing
This week’s Just One Thing is, I’m a failed runner. I used to regularly run 5 and 10k races with my BFF, and I quit doing them. Now I couldn’t run a whole race if I had a slew of zombies chasing after me. Quitting running is one of my biggest regrets, and biggest failures, ever, because I’m not a natural runner, and it took me forever to get in good enough shape to be able to run a 10K without stopping and in a respectable time. Now I sound like a broken set of bagpipes if I try to run 😉
See you tomorrow for the big mudroom reveal! I can’t wait to show you guys!
