This post is sponsored by Precision Fenceworks. I received a discount on our fence in return for sharing my experience with their company. All opinions are my own.
For over a year, since we first got Marshall, our Boxer/Bulldog mix from the shelter, my mom had been trying to convince us to put up a real fence, and not the electric boundary fence that we had, and for that whole time we resisted. Mostly because of cost, and because the electric fence had worked okay. There were times that the battery in his collar went out, but for the most part, it worked for him. Then, we got Tucker (our English/American Bulldog mix), and everything changed.
Tucker is a handful, and no collar can contain him. And I mean, NO COLLAR. In no time at all, he had taught Marshall how to take his collar off. I can’t tell you how many different collars we went through! They are canine Houdini’s. And soon, we were getting calls from neighbors, animal control, even the police that our dogs were roaming the neighborhood and even chasing walkers and joggers as they went by our house.
You haven’t lived until you have to leave work after receiving a call from the police so you can chase your dogs around your yard in your skirt and heels.
Marshall and Tucker became miserable inside dogs, and we took Mom’s advice and started calling fence companies for estimates.
We spoke to four different companies, and chose Precision Fenceworks. Cost wise, they were right in the middle of the others- another company came in around $1000 less, yet another was $1500 more. I’ll tell you why we chose them over the others:
- This is a major investment for us. We would be fencing in over an acre of land, and knew it would be several thousand dollars. We knew we wouldn’t be able to afford to put in a new fence in a couple of years if this one was poor quality. Precision Fenceworks’ reputation for quality is second to none.
- Their design consultant came to our house and spent over an hour discussing our options with us, and followed up with us quickly when we had questions. Some of the others acted as if it was a hassle to come out- in fact, one came out while we were at work (so we were never able to meet with him) and left his estimate with my 16 year old- we weren’t even able to ask him any questions!
- They have a 5 year workmanship warranty. The others only offered 2 years, which was a big concern for us.
- They offered a completely itemized estimate- no surprises with extra costs in the end!
For us, choosing Precision Fenceworks meant peace of mind knowing we would be more likely to receive a quality product.
Precision had a 5 week wait time (actually, pretty much all of the others did as well), but it was totally worth it. Check out our beautiful new fence, which was actually finished this summer:
Privacy Fence from Precision Fenceworks
This is from the front yard. We had a privacy fence put in up front so the dogs wouldn’t see every walker/jogger/biker that goes by.
One of the things that I love about the privacy fence is the cap at the top, which only added a little to the total price. It finishes it off soooo nicely!
I also love how there aren’t any gaps between the panels. It just came out a million times better than I could have ever imagined.
One of my favorite things about the fence, and what I think speaks so well about the quality, is that the inside of the privacy fence is just as nice as the outside:
Ahh, the little stinker himself…Although since he does consent to being dressed up in Bulldog jerseys from time to time, I can’t complain too much….
And these boys sure do love each other. Beau is Tucker’s boy for sure!
Picket Fence from Precision Fenceworks
So I didn’t want a privacy fence all around our property- only on the front- because I didn’t want to cut off the view from the side of the yard, where we often entertain and Michael’s Georgia room is, to the backyard, where the boys are often playing with the dogs. And I LOVE the look of picket fences! Here’s what we ended up with on the side:
That is a 4 foot tall picket fence, which you can see is plenty big to keep the pups safely contained in the yard (also, notice how beefy those fence posts are?):
I’m not gonna lie, ever since we got this fence, I’ve been dreaming of how sweet it would look all dressed up for Christmas. I haven’t done a stitch of Christmas decorating inside yet, but I couldn’t resist doing some decorating to the fence!
If it’s wrong to love a fence so much you want to dress it up like a Barbie doll, I don’t want to be right.
Farm fence with Precision Fenceworks
We had the entire back of our property fenced with simple farm fencing. It was a super economical choice that does a great job of keeping the pups contained.
Hardware
I want to show you guys the hardware that Precision Fenceworks used on our fence:
As you can see, it’s very high quality, super durable, and we didn’t pay anything extra for it. The second picture is one of my favorite features. It allows us to lock the fence from the inside, so we can be sure that the catch on the fence won’t slip or accidentally open.
Final thoughts with Precision Fence
My mom told me over and over that a fence would be life changing, and she was right. It’s great knowing that our pups are safe, sound, and happy. And the curb appeal to the house doesn’t hurt either 🙂 Not even joking, people stop us and ask us about the fence all the time- it’s amazing!
Y’all should know that Precision Fenceworks didn’t have a clue who I am when we installed the fence. I reached out to them about collaborating once the fence was complete and we were just so supremely happy with it. I am incredibly confident that they give the same high quality and customer service to everyone, and I am happy to recommend them!
