Hey guys, so we’re making slow progress in the $100 Room Challenge- specifically, I finally figured out the closet design plans ?

So a big part of the plans is to stay within budget by using as many leftover paints and supplies as possible, so I knew I’d be using mostly white, pink, and blues, since that’s what I’ve used lately. I settled on pink (Ballet Slipper by Valspar) for the trim, a dark blue (Deep Twilight Blue, Valspar) for the ceiling, and The Perfect White (Valspar) for the walls. I’m also going to use Schoolboy Blue for the doors (the same blue that is on the dresser).
Here’s how the Ballet Slipper and Deep Twilight Blue look in our living room ceiling and walls:

I’ve also decided to paint the shoe shelf white, and- remember the pink buffalo check fabric I used in the mudroom?

I’m going to line the back of the shelf with what I have left of that fabric. It’s going to be so.stinkin’.cute.

I’ve also figured out what to do with the wire shelves, and I’m hoping to get that taken care of this weekend…maybe?
Here’s the latest layout:

Also, I’m going to paint really thin stripes on the globes on the lights. It should provide a cute little punch in this space!
All that I got done this week, besides finalize the plans, was painting the pink trim. That paint had only been stored for a couple of months, but holy cow did the fumes overwhelm me! I could only stand being in the closet for an hour or so, and haven’t really been able to go back in there since I painted it. Those fumes were more like epoxy fumes. It was awful.
So now I’m a little bit behind, but it’s okay. Here’s what left to do:
Repair and paint dressers- Paint walls, ceilings, and
baseboards. - Buy matching hangers
Add a shelf above the dresser on my side of the closet. Not needed anymore with the change in design!Move linens to the closet in my oldest son’s room(which means I have to tackle that closet as well). I’ve moved the linens but still need to tackle his closet.- Update the lighting
- Cover the wire shelves (I have an idea for this)
- Organize my jewelry
- Do something to make this space pretty
- paint shoe shelf and line back with fabric
Yikes, I guess I only marked one thing off and added a couple ?♀️ But on the plus side, I still have my entire $100 budget left!
Two more weeks to go!

Beth, I just love your style! I have a similar rug and the same couch hehe. And if I wasn’t renting I would definitely have some pink wallpaper somewhere in this house LOL. Can’t wait to see the changes you have planned.
Thanks so much Linda! I love your style so that means a lot to me ❤️Now I’m like, hmm, pink wallpaper…
Oh I love all the colors you are using!! I love vibrant colors. This is going to turn out so good!
I know what you mean about those fumes! It can be so overbearing! I like the idea of painting stripes on your glass globes- give it that old school feel. You will make it all come together- you’re amazing!
It sounds like you are getting a lot done cant wait to see your reveal.
Thanks Jen, it’s coming along!
Your plans sound amazing! I absolutely love the dark blue color in your living room and excited to see it in your closet as well!
Thanks Maria! I love how color makes such a huge difference in a space! Also I’m loving how your bathroom is turning out!
I LOVE that you paint your trim in such fun colors… way better than wood or white. I am going to have to try it in one of our rooms, I just never think of it when I’m actually doing a makeover! Sounds like this closet is going to be incredibly amazing! Can’t wait to see the plans all come together!
